The Eye Foundation performs 1.5 lakh+ Refractive Surgeries in 25 years; reaches a phenomenal milestone

Coimbatore based comprehensive eye care solutions provider The Eye Foundation conveyed on Thursday that since introducing Refractive Surgeries 25 years ago, the chain of The Eye Foundation hospitals across India has performed more than 1.5 lakh successful Refractive Surgeries with just 1/10th of the price thats charged in Western countries.

Refractive Surgeries are eye Surgeries done to enable people see clearly without the need for spectacles or contact lenses, and The Eye Foundation stands among the first few eye care hospitals to introduce these surgeries in India.

Dr.Ramamurthy, Chairman, The Eye Foundation said that more than 7000 Refractive Surgeries were done in 2022 alone by the foundation across all of its centers. Talking specifically about the operations done at Coimbatore center, he said more than 4000 procedures were done here.

Dr.Shreyas Ramamurthy, MD, The Eye Foundation said that there is a rise in the number of people wearing spectacles in recent years due to various reasons, excessive screen time being one of the important causes.

As The Eye Foundation celebrates its 25 years of Refractive Surgery, it is planning a series of events and activities including surgical conference, patient education programs, community outreach initiatives and special offers for patients who undergo refractive surgery during the anniversary period.

It will also be organising a two-day medical conference in the city on April 1&2 which will be attended by 500 ophthalmologists across the country and 6 world renowned surgeons.

Dr. Gullapalli N.Rao, Founder Chairman, LV Prasad Eye Institute will be the Chief Guest of this medical conference.
